CHILDCARE FIRST AID
IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR FIRST AID AND BASIC LIFE SUPPORT CERTIFICATE
To successfully complete your qualification, you must submit evidence of a ‘Statement of Attainment’ stating the successful completion of your First Aid qualification. This is to be submitted in OpenSpace so that a Credit Transfer can be applied on your enrolment.
Break down of HLTAID011 Provide first aid which includes:
- HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation – to be updated yearly
- HLTAID010 Provide basic emergency life support – to be updated every three years
Once you are working in industry you will be required to:
- Attend HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training yearly. Your placement provider may require an up-to-date certificate prior to commencing placement.
Graduation/Completion of your qualification
In some courses where HLTAID011 or any variation of the First Aid qualification is a required unit of competency, you will not be eligible for graduation until you have successfully met the requirements of a current First Aid and Basic life support certificate.

It is your responsibility to ensure that your certificates are up to date as per the requirements set out within your chosen industry.
32500/01 - HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
Students need to provide a certified and current Certificate for HLTAID009: Workplace Level 2 or Level 2 qualification from an accredited course to demonstrate completion of HLTAID009. Note, HLTAID009 needs to be updated yearly.
It is strongly recommended that your First Aid Certificate is valid for the entire length of your course.
30500/02 - HLTAID010 Provide basic emergency life support
Students need to provide a certified and current Certificate for HLTAID010: Workplace Level 2 or Level 2 qualification from an accredited course to demonstrate completion of HLTAID010. Note, HLTAID010 needs to be updated every three years.
It is strongly recommended that your First Aid Certificate is valid for the entire length of your course.
32500/03 - HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
Students need to provide a certified and current Certificate for HLTAID011: Workplace Level 2 or Level 2 qualification from an accredited course to demonstrate completion of HLTAID011. HLTAID011 Provide First Aid includes:
- HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation – To be updated yearly.
- HLTAID010 Provide basic emergency life support – To be updated every three years.
